What is Mini Company?

 

Mini Company is a Competitive Company at Bobbie’s geared for advanced 5 - 6 year olds! This invitation-only Company will train together throughout the week, do team events, competitions and conventions in the Spring season! Mini Company will be required to take all their technique classes together as a team as to advance at a more rapid pace. 

 

Competition? Convention? What does that mean?

In addition to their required technique classes, Mini Company will have choreography rehearsal during the week. This rehearsal will be for learning and cleaning their competition dance(s). In the Spring, the dancers will attend 2 regional dance competitions where they will compete their number against other dancers their age from across Southern California. Awards are given out based on the judges adjudication scores. Judges will be looking to award points for stellar performance, technique and execution of the dance. 

 

Mini Company will also be attending 1 Dance Convention. A Dance Convention is a weekend-long event where dancers from the area come together to take two days of master classes. Top teachers from across the country are brought in to work with the dancers in a multitude of dance styles. 

 

What amount of time is required to participate in Mini Company?

Mini Company dancers will train at Bobbie’s two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday. They will train in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tumbling and learn Choreography. 

Additional events will usually take place on the weekends. A yearlong calendar of additional events will be released in Summer 2024. 

 

How much does Mini Company cost?

Mini Company has a monthly flat rate that includes all of their technique classes and rehearsals. Mini Company will have 2 large group competition dances that all dancers will participate in.

Where does Mini Company perform throughout the year?

2 Competitions (Between Redondo Beach and Anaheim)

1 Convention (this will be a workshop for the dancers on a Saturday and Sunday)

Additional Community Events

 

Not only will your dancer be able to participate in extra performance opportunities but also learn what it means to be part of a team! There will be an all Company Picnic, Team bonding activities and a Banquet to finish up the year!

When do classes for Mini Company start up?

We will be doing team bonding and starting their dances between July 29 - August 19. Once we know who is participating in Mini Company we will send out an email with specific dates/times.
