JASMINE DUNCAN

BALLET TEACHER

Jasmine Duncan started her ballet training at Ballet Academy Ventura at 4 years old. Under the tutelage of Marina Fliagana and Bretislav Weidlich, she adopted the Vaganova method as a technical foundation. During her training, she attended several summer intensives including Joffrey Ballet Chicago, San Francisco Ballet School, and State Street Ballet and danced a variety of soloist roles for Ventura County Ballet. In 2018, she was honored with the City of Ventura Mayor’s Arts Award for Student Artist and earned the Scholarship Award to the HARID Conservatory through her performance at the California Dance Classics competition. She later attended the University of Southern California, earning her bachelor’s degree in Non-Governmental Organizations and Social Change. Jasmine is dancing as a freelance artist, most recently appearing as a guest performer in The Nutcracker and Cinderella. As a teacher, she enjoys instilling in her students the joy of dance, appreciation of artistry, and care for technique.
