Munchkin Ballet and Tap- ages 2 through 4

A unique introductory program designed to enhance rhythm skills, coordination, musicality and a genuine love for the art of dance. Basic ballet and tap are offered in this 45 minute class.

Twinkle Toes Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop- ages 5 & 6

A pre-ballet, tap and jazz program that is designed to further introduce young children to basic dance skills. Its goal is to further inspire students and build their coordination and musicality skills as a pre-requisite for the more advanced levels. Ballet and tap combination classes are 1 hour per week and Jazz and Hip Hop are offered for ½ hour per week.

Jumpstart Ballet, Tap and Jazz- ages 7 through 10

The beginning of the students full technical training. Each class is offered separately. Ballet is required if a student at this level wishes to take tap or jazz. Ballet classes are a minimum of 45 minutes followed by 45 minutes of tap or jazz or both.

Pre-Teen (11-13) & Teen(14-18)

This is still an introductory level at which students are expected to master all of their basic skills before moving to the next level. These would include body placement, alignment, stretched feet, basic turn technique, and straight legs. Tap would include basic tap skills .

Pointe Class

This program is limited to dancers with many years of ballet training whom the ballet teachers and studio director have approved.

Assignment of Levels and Pointe Work

The teachers, in collaboration with the studio director, make all decisions on the placement of students and the appropriate time for beginning pointe work.

Advancement through the levels is not automatic. Each student’s development as a dancer is individually assessed and tailored to accommodate the different stages of bodily development, coordination, and number of classes taken each week. Regular attendance, concentration, ability to assimilate instruction and level of interest all contribute to steady growth.

Contemporary

Contemporary class is open to all dancers who are presently studying ballet. The dancer will be leveled by the studio director.

Hip/Hop Classes

These are open to all dancers age five and over, and are basically divided by age. The student learns basic hip/hop dancing on a once a week basis.

Adult Classes

Offered for our Spring 2017 Session: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop.

Boys Classes

A special ‘Boys Only’ class is offered for young men, ages 7-12.  Boys are welcome in all other classes appropriate for their individual level.

Intensive Classes (Company Classes)

Intensive Classes are designed for dancers who wish to pursue a professional career or strive to accomplish an advanced level of training. A student is accepted into the program upon the recommendation of the teacher and the approval of the studio director.

Requirements for acceptance into the Intensive Program are not limited to talent level alone. A student must demonstrate exceptional discipline in the classroom, emotional maturity to handle their expected work ethic, and meet and maintain all skill requirements.

The Intensive Dance Program requires a strong commitment to a student’s dance training by both the student and his/her parents. A student must study a minimum of four classes per week. Bobbie’s Intensive dance programs “graduates” have moved on to professional dance careers or outstanding colleges and universities.

Aerial Silks, Hoops and Hammocks

Bobbie’s is excited to bring the amazing art form of aerial silk dancing to you! We are focusing on making aerial fabrics safe and accessible for everyone. Aerial work builds upper-body and core strength while increasing your range of motion and flexibility. Whether working with silks, hoops or hammocks, all dancers can benefit from these classes.

Bobbie’s aerial program is great for students ranging from complete beginner to an intermediate level.  (As the program develops more advanced classes will be offered.)  We look forward to seeing your dancer develop their creativity with this new art form and we are proud to introduce our highly qualified and gifted instructors, Mary Bellows and Alyssa Viggiano!

Most of our students go on to excel in all areas of their lives as they move towards their future. Young people who develop a strong sense of self-discipline grow up feeling good about themselves. The philosophy at Bobbie’s is to help all students grow into healthy, happy adults who love themselves and respect the world around them.
