Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts faculty members are a unique team of qualified professionals, all certified by various nationally recognized dance teacher organizations. Many of our faculty members also teach on national and international faculties. Most faculty members are professional performers and choreographers from the Los Angeles area. They are dedicated to giving their students the best dance education possible.
Jaime Randall is a Kansas City native who started dancing at the age of 2. She has had extensive training in Modern, Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz technique for over 20 years. At age 18 she moved to Los Angeles,CA and was accepted into the EDGE Performing Arts Center professional scholarship program. After her intensive, 40 hours a week, training in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Hip Hop she ﬁnished the year with a professional stage show and a dance agent. Jaime feels blessed to have worked with some amazing choreographers throughout her career, such as Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo, JT Horenstein, Brian Friedman, Scott Hislop, and more. She has worked with numerous musical artists such as Gwen Stefani, The Blood Arm, and My Chemical Romance. Jaime took some time off to explore some of her other hobbies, such as sailing, in Hawaii. An accomplishment of hers is sailing the islands and sailing from Kauai to Newport Beach, CA. She is currently living in Ventura, CA with her husband Tyler and two dogs, Dook and Esmie. Jaime feels fortunate to be pursuing her dream of owning her own studio. She has dreamt of this for some time now and has found the right home to make it happen. She has taught/directed at numerous studios in the Southern California area and feels very blessed to continue Barbara Tauber’s Legacy here at Bobbie’s.
Mandy was born in Thousand Oaks, CA. She started dancing at the age of 2 and competed from age 10 until she graduated on Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts competition team. She was accepted in to Joffrey Ballet School, and the American Ballet Theater training companies where she studied intensively in Ballet and Pointe. After high school she was accepted into the Edge Performing Arts professional scholarship program. She trained at 40 hours a week for a year and finished the program with a professional stage show and with a dance agent. Mandy has worked with some of the biggest choreographers in the dance world, such as Teresa Espinosa, Mandy Moore, Scotty Nguyen, Jamal Sims, Miguel Zarate, John Charron, Peggy Hickey and more. She danced in the film High School Musical 2, under the direction of Kenny Ortega, and has appeared in music videos for Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. Since completing the Edge PAC Scholarship Program, Mandy has been seen on television in the Video Music Awards, America’s Most Talented Kids, NBA All-Star Jam, Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards and Fresh Beat Band episodes. Mandy is a regular at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre stage shows and recently toured with Nuclear Cowboyz 2012, choreographed by Scotty Nguyen.
Elizabeth Petrin was born and raised in Nashville, TN and received her dance training at DC Dance Factory. After graduating from Nashville School of the Arts, she was accepted into the Edge Performing Arts Scholarship Program. She spent a year training and learning the ins and outs of the industry under some of Los Angeles’ top choreographers such as Mandy Moore, Miguel Zarate, Harry Shum and Jason Myhre. Since then she has performed in several company and benefit shows and can be seen dancing for Rihanna in her 2008 VMA performance, as well as Jon Chu’s upcoming episodes for the League of Extraordinary Dancers.
Scotty has been professionally dancing since the age of thirteen. As well as being well versed in many styles of dance such as hip hop, jazz, breakdance, and krump, Scotty is also a black belt in Okinawan martial arts. Throughout his career he has worked with some of the biggest pop stars including Michael Jackson and has repeatedly danced for some of the greatest choreographers like Vince Paterson. Scotty has worked with companies such as Reebok, Nike, Sony, Nintendo, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Nickelodeon, Mattel, as well as, a strong portfolio of breakdancing credits within TV and Film. (Adam Sandler movie “The Wedding Singer”.) You can find Scotty on the new American Idol billboards across the nation. Scotty also just finished working with Taylor Swift on her iheart radio performance.
Kansas City native, Kandice Shom is fully certiﬁed through the Stott Pilates Method. Kandice graduated from the University of Arizona with a BFA in dance and has been dancing professionally in LA while teaching Pilates and dance. Kandice brings to much to the kids in her classroom. She is full of, not only Ballet knowledge, but specifics about the body and how to combine her pilates training and ballet technique. She has been teaching Pilates at Grace Anatomy Studio in Studio City for a couple years after being fully certiﬁed through the Stott Pilates Method. Kandice had the exciting opportunity to dance in a cirque show in Guam, national commercials, and tv including the new ABC Family hit Bunheads. Pilates has kept her dancing through the years, and she is passionate about passing along the beneﬁts of Ballet combined with Pilates. Kandice is delighted to share her love of dance and her motivating techniques with Bobbie's dancers!
Christian has over 14 years of dance training with a focus on ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and jazz funk. He is a New Orleans native, trained under the influence of both the Deep South and Cuban cultures. At 15, he moved to Houston to train in classical ballet at the Houston Ballet Academy. His additional training with well known East and West Coast Instructors as well as living in LA and studying with some of the most famous choreographers in the industry such has given Christian the opportunity to develop a unique style of his own. Early stage experience has included over 20 recitals and four musical theatre productions. By 18, he was touring through Europe as one of the “Bad Boys of Dance” in “Rock the Ballet”, performing in Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and Finland, and his recent work choreographing for "Ryan James Yezak presents" has gotten him worldwide recognition with over 10 million worldwide viewers. His strong passion for choreographing and dancing continues to grow as does his love for pushing the boundaries on the definition of dance and expanding his vocabulary of movement by continuing to study different styles.
Essence was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, CA. She began her dance training at the age of 13. Even with a late start to dance, Essence’s determination and work ethic advanced her to the dancer she is today. Growing up dancing at Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts she received training in many styles of dance including Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical. Dancing at Bobbie’s, she was able to train closely with Mandy Moore, Scotty Nguyen, Denise Wall, Jeff Amsden, Alex Little, Greg Russell, and many others.
Recently, Essence has been working on getting her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine at California Lutheran University. In addition to her schooling, she has been dancing for music artists such as Press Play, Juliet Piper, and Evan Craft. Just recently Essence danced and choreographed the music video “unraveling” for Juliet Piper. While she is not going to school or dancing, Essence is spending most of her time racing her bike. She has won three national championships and won more than five overall national titles, as well as racing in two World Championships. She represented the United States in Canberra, Australia and Quebec Canada.
Erik was a 3-year member of Newbury Park’s National Winning Dance Team and just graduated from Edge Performing Arts professional scholarship program. At Edge he trained 40 hours a week while pursuing a career in the commercial dance industry with some of LA’s top choreographers such as Mandy Moore, Bill Prudich, Terri Best and Adam Ladin. Erik's dance representation is with Bloc Talent Agengy. Erik has been a part of the Bobbie's family for years and we are so thrilled to have him share his teaching talents with the kids!!
A graduate of the University of Miami with emphasis on Studio Recording and Jazz Vocal Performance, Lori has extensive vocal experience as a recording artist, commercial session singer and live performer, and her songwriting has earned her Billboard Magazine's Songwriter of the Year Award. She was the director of DePaul University's Jazz Vocal program from 1991-1997 and is a vocal clinician for the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (the GRAMMYS) with emphasis on jazz and contemporary vocal instruction. She currently teaches voice at Pepperdine University, is the founder and Executive Director of Chick Singer Night, a national performance network for female artists (www.chicksingernight.com), and is the founder and President of Breathe - A Foundation for the Artist, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to the needs of all artists.
